Beat Licensing FAQ

Beat Licensing FAQ

Everything you need to know before purchasing a Ray's Beats license.

What's the difference between a lease and an exclusive license?

A lease means Ray retains ownership of the beat and can continue licensing it to other artists. You get usage rights within specific limits (streams, sales, videos). An exclusive license means you own the beat outright — it's removed from the store permanently, no one else can use it, and no credit is required.

What are the license tiers?

Tier Price Streams Sales Format
Preview Free Watermarked MP3
Basic Lease $30 5,000 2,500 MP3
Standard Lease $60 50,000 10,000 WAV + MP3
Pro Lease ⭐ $150 Unlimited Unlimited WAV + MP3 (clean)
Unlimited Lease $300 Unlimited Unlimited WAV + MP3 + Stems
Exclusive From $500 Unlimited Unlimited WAV + MP3 + Stems
Custom Production From $1,000 Negotiated Negotiated WAV + MP3 + Stems

How do I receive my files after purchasing?

Files are delivered digitally via email immediately after purchase. You'll receive a download link at the email address you used at checkout. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.

Do I need to credit Ray's Beats?

Yes, for all lease tiers (Basic through Unlimited) you must credit Ray's Beats in your release. The standard credit format is: "Prod. by Ray's Beats". The Exclusive license requires no credit.

Can I use a leased beat on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube?

Yes — Standard, Pro, and Unlimited leases all cover major streaming platforms. Basic Lease is best for SoundCloud, demos, and early projects. If you're pushing a serious release to all platforms, go Pro or higher.

What happens if a beat gets sold exclusively while I have a lease?

Your existing lease remains valid. Exclusivity prevents future leases from being sold — it does not void active leases already in place.

Can I get a custom beat made just for me?

Absolutely. Custom Production starts at $1,000 and includes a full beat built to your specifications — your sound, your style, your vision. Contact Ray to scope the project.
